Katie Fritz, President

I was so honored to be chosen as IFACC president, after only three years with the chorus! This organization is amazing for leadership growth and music education – I have learned SO much already, and I’m just getting started!
I’ve been singing in organized groups almost my whole life, beginning in my hometown of Rochester, Minnesota, with my church choir, my elementary school’s audition-only chorus, and then the Southeast Minnesota Honors Choirs in middle and high school. In college, I sang with the Northwestern University Chapel Choir, and when I moved to Riverton, Wyoming, with my future husband, Cooper, I sang with the Central Wyoming College community chorus.
It took me a while to find a singing group when we moved to Idaho Falls, because we were busy getting married, buying a house, and having a baby! But when I heard a quartet spontaneously singing at City Bagel one weekend, I made a note to check out their group someday. Finally, I wandered into a rehearsal, where I found this raucous, fun group of super-talented singers that blew me away! Barbershop is different from any kind of singing I’ve done before, and I absolutely love learning all the tricks of this entertaining trade.

I sing baritone and have been a proud member of the chorus for nearly 24 years. I also spent two years preforming with the competing quartet UpSwing, which was a fun and rewarding experience.
Outside of music, I am a retired school teacher after 33 years in education. I've been happily married to my husband Tim, for 31 years, and we share our home with our four footed fur baby, Sophie, a lovable cocker spaniel.
When I am not singing, you'll likely find me enjoying time outdoors and traveling in our camper trailer, making new memories along the way.

Cheryle Spencer, Member at Large
I cannot remember a time in my life without music.
My Mom and Dad loved the big bands and would dance in the living room to the big 33 LPs they collected for years.
As a child my grama (on my dad's side), my 5 great aunts (Grama’s sisters) and my Auntie (her daughter) would gather around the piano to play and sing beautiful harmonies. They were all self-taught and were in high demand for weddings, funerals and/or anytime entertainment was desired. I remember the harmonies being tight and giving me goose-bumps.
I played clarinet in the school band since 6th grade and loved our recitals. I received a guitar for Christmas when I was 15 and taught myself to play.... of course I sang along. I always loved performing for my friends and family.
I married young, started a family and my guitar came out of the case only to sing to my babies. In 2009 my sister-in-law, who had just moved here from Alaska where she was a Sweet Adeline, talked me into visiting the Idaho Falls A Cappella Chorus with her. She joined and so did I. My dormant love of music and performing was reawakened.
I love this chorus and the joy and comradery that comes with it. I have made such good friends and met so many special women! My world would become so small without my sisters in song! This organization has enhanced my life in too many ways to count.
I will be forever grateful to have discovered and become a part of the Idaho Falls A Cappella Chorus and the Sweet Adelines International.
